I
was born in Innisfail and my sister, my two
brothers and I spent our childhood running
barefoot largely in the company of aboriginal
friends.
At
one stage I lived close to a swamp, almost
identical to the one in this story where there
was a resident python.
I
came across it one day on the edge of the
swamp and I have never been so frightened
in all my life.
