Born
in London, Victor Kelleher lived in Africa for 20
years before moving to Australia via New Zealand.
Formerly
an associate professor of English, he found there
was room in his life for only one career and, for
some years now, he has been a professional writer
who divides his time between adult and children's
fiction.
A
long-time resident of Sydney, he left there once
his children were grown up. Currently, he lives
on a country property near Bellingen, NSW, which
he shares with his sculptor wife.
Victor
has won many awards, including the CBC Book of the
Year, and various children's choice awards which
are especially important to him.
Outside
of writing, his interests include movies, travel,
singing, bush walking, and (of course!) reading.
